Rental terms

Sidra Car SA vehicle rentals

This document governs the rental of prestige vehicles operated by Sidra Car SA. It supplements the contract signed when the vehicle is delivered.

1. Eligibility

  • Minimum age 18 with a licence held for at least 1 year for Standard ranges.
  • Business and First Class vehicles require drivers aged 25+ with a licence held for 3 years.
  • Driving licence recognised in Switzerland and Europe.
  • Personal credit card used for the guarantee and deposit.
  • Drivers aged 18-24 are deemed young drivers; a surcharge may apply.

2. Documents required at delivery

  • Original, valid driving licence.
  • Personal credit card in the lead driver's name.
  • Passport or ID plus full proof of address.
  • Security deposit (amount given on the confirmation).
  • Joint inspection mentioning any prior damage on the hand-over report.

3. Vehicle return

  • Vehicle must be returned with a full tank or charge; otherwise CHF 95 per quarter tank plus fuel applies.
  • Interior/exterior cleaning required: detailing surcharge from CHF 250 if the car is returned dirty.
  • Joint inspection on return; damage identified after cleaning may be invoiced.

4. Obligations and prohibitions

  • Forbidden use for racing, teaching, subleasing or any unauthorised activity.
  • Strict no smoking or vaping policy in all vehicles.
  • Respect fuel/AdBlue levels and tyre pressures.
  • No repairs or towing without approval.
  • In case of accident or theft: notify Sidra Car SA and local police, an official report is mandatory.
  • Park in secure areas and favour covered parking for First/Business ranges.

5. Payment and booking

  • Accepted methods: credit card, debit card, bank transfer or cash (depending on amount).
  • For transfers, provide proof of payment when the vehicle is released.
  • Late cancellation or no-show invoiced according to the contract conditions.
  • Failure to show within 2 hours may cancel the booking without refund.
  • Sidra Car SA may offer a complimentary upgrade or recall a vehicle for operational reasons.

6. Insurance and liability

  • All vehicles include liability and comprehensive coverage according to category.
  • Negligence, dangerous driving or prohibited use makes the renter fully liable.
  • Partial Cover option limits liability to a category-defined amount if the incident is reported and no breach is noted.
  • Super Protection further reduces the excess and includes theft cover when obligations are met (police report, keys returned, etc.).
  • Never covered: interior trim, accessories, towing fees or damage linked to incorrect fuel.

7. Areas of use

  • Zone 1 (Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Northern Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands): full coverage.
  • Zone 2 (Southern Italy, Spain, Portugal, UK, Slovenia, Slovakia): written authorisation required, reduced coverage.
  • Zone 3 (broader Eastern Europe and non-EU countries): special authorisation, third-party cover only.

8. Duration, extension and early return

  • Minimum duration: 24 h (tolerance until the 26th hour).
  • Shorter hires available upon written request.
  • Any extension must be confirmed 48 h in advance.
  • Early return: notify 48 h beforehand; no refund for unused started days.

9. Additional drivers and equipment

  • Adding a second driver requires licence validation and extra fees.
  • Available equipment: child seats, boosters, GPS, Wi-Fi router. Advance booking recommended.
  • Loss or damage to accessories (key, toll badge, seats) invoiced at replacement cost.

10. Cancellation and changes

  • Changes ≥ 10 days before departure: free of charge.
  • Changes between D-10 and D-8: 15% of the total amount.
  • Cancellation between D-8 and D-3: 45% of the total amount.
  • Cancellation < 72 h or no-show: 100% of the total amount.
  • Requests must be emailed to info@sidracar.ch.

11. Vehicle care and cleanliness

  • Interior damage (stains, burns, odours, pet hair) leads to full restoration costs (minimum CHF 280).
  • Ferry transport forbidden without written approval; otherwise repatriation costs are charged to the renter.
  • Border crossings require authorisation and possibly a green card plus international assistance (fees borne by the renter).

12. Fines and taxes

  • Renter pays all traffic fines; Sidra Car SA admin fee: CHF 45 per case.
  • All services are subject to applicable Swiss VAT.

13. Severability & law

  • If a clause is void the others remain in force; an equivalent clause will be proposed.
  • Any change must be confirmed in writing (email).
  • Use of our services after updates implies acceptance of the new terms.
  • Swiss law applies; jurisdiction: Geneva.
